Five challenges for intranet managers

IBF LIVE 2006 was well and truly kicked off when Paul Miller, founder and chairman of the Intranet Benchmarking Forum, issued five key challenges for ambitious intranet managers:

1. They must have at least two senior leaders actively engaged in intranet governance and key decision-making
2. They must have a firm and robust technical platform to support the organisation’s online strategy
3. They need a 3-5 year vision for their online environment
4. They must ensure that the intranet is driving business processes across the organisation
5. They must position themselves politically to be respected and recognised as being at the operational heart of the organisation.
